"You need a perfect script, pro-level art skills, and endless free time to actually finish a comic..."
✨ Sound familiar? Let me share a secret: That's simply not true.
Finishing a comic isn't about talent or perfect conditions, it's about workflow, momentum, and getting out of your own way.
Welcome to CROM X: Comic Creator Experience.
This course breaks down the entire process of making a comic, from comic language and panels to scripting, layouts, inking, coloring, and self-publishing, so you can finally get your story onto the page and out into the world.
Whether you're starting your first comic or stuck halfway through one, you'll build the workflow and confidence to see it through to the end.
Ready to finish what you start? Let's get started today! ✨
I’m a London based artist who specialises in comic books, games, tattooing and necromancy , among other things. I grew up on pop culture, manga and board games. They are so deeply ingrained in my work that I couldn’t escape them if I wanted to. Creator of the graphic novel ‘Birdking', sold and published globally, and artist for ‘Raiders’ and other collaborations, people claim to recognise my style wherever they see it - And after years of working on my craft, I’ll never grow tired of hearing it.
I went from drawing comics in my bedroom, and playing Magic the Gathering, to publishing my own comics with Dark Horse Comics, Les Humanoïdes Associés and making cards for Wizards of the Coast. For a long time, making art had to fit around everything else. Now, after years of juggling day jobs and late-night drawing sessions, I finally get to do what I love full time. No backup plan. Just me, my art, my characters and stories.
This class, has been so great! I’m enjoying every minute, reevaluating my whole process and learning a great deal. I’m sure I’ll end up watching it a couple more times.
Very great videos, I learned a lot, both about how to use Procreate, and about Crom. :)
Great course to inspire you to create. For years I struggle with my drawings, pressuring me with great expectations but no actions. This course makes you take action and enjoy the process.
You sit down to draw, and instead of freezing on what comes next, you already know where the story goes.
You've got a workflow that fits how you work, fast or slow, tight or loose, and you know exactly how to break a scene into panels that read.
You start seeing comics differently, in timing, in pacing, in choices you used to miss. And when you sit down to draw, the pages finally keep coming instead of stalling out.
Your comic looks more finished and more yours. That's what happens when you understand the craft deeply.
And that's what this course is here to help you achieve. Are you ready to join?
You'll understand comics language, from timing to camera angles, so every panel says exactly what you mean.
Train your eye to notice pacing, panel choices, and framing, the kind of awareness that transforms the way you read and draw comics.
The course has 15 modules for Xx+ hours of learning and practicing. You can pause and replay the videos as much as you want. The course is suitable for everyone, teens, adults and children because there is no explicit content. It would be best to take the course in order, because it will start from the basics to lessons at a more advanced level.
Practice makes perfect!
Meet your instructor and get an overview of the course and materials, then dive into how comics actually communicate, through the caveman and movies exercises, recommended reading, and timing between panels.
Compare digital and traditional comic-making tools, then learn how camera angles change the feeling of a scene through hands-on angle-switching exercises.
Break down panel structure, from 3-panel strips to close-up insets and sliced action panels, then learn how sound effects add rhythm and impact to your pages.
Learn to write and read a comic script, working backward from story structure, writing your own page, and reviewing a real printed script, then design characters that carry your story.
Plan page layouts and storyboarding with an eye for how the reader's gaze moves across the page and speech bubble placement, then rough out thumbnails focused on composition and framing.
Build confident pencil roughs, then move into inking, both digitally and traditionally, to turn loose sketches into finished linework.
Add colour to bring your pages to life, then build a page tracker and workflow, whether you prefer finishing pages one at a time or batching pencils, inks, and colour across the whole book.
Put it all together on a graduation project working from Crom's own script, then pick up general comic-making tips gathered from years in the field.
Learn the advantages of self-publishing and how to market your comic, plus practical tips for getting picked up by a publisher.
We'll cover the materials and comics language you need to begin this journey. Before you draw a page, you need to know how comics communicate, and the tools to get you there.
Theory matters, but what makes you a true comic creator is practice... Lots of it! You'll get exercises to work from and draw inspiration from, plus tricks to make your pages truly your own.
